Chelix's Solar Control Films are polymeric CLC layers that reflect targeted infrared (IR)
wavelengths
while still allowing visible light to completely pass through. Since heating infrared
light is blocked by the film, the product is excellent for situations that require energy-efficient
architectural or automotive designs.
Our formulations can be used in traditional high speed wet coating process
lines that have a UV curing capability. The technology can be used alone or in tandem with
metallization to increase solar heat rejection even further.
Applications:
- After-market: Residential, commercial and automotive
- OEM: Automotive, window composites, doors and other glass structures
Benefits:
- Highly solar selective, reflecting unwanted IR heat while letting in visible
light unaltered
- Non-metallic: does not corrode or block electromagnetic frequencies
(signals from/to cell phones, radios, or garage door openers)
- Consistent with current wet-coating film processes used in the converter industry,
which will dramatically reduce the total cost of ownership for the film
